Hello all,
Let me start by saying thannks to everyone who created the snitz forums. I know I don't know who you are, but none the less I really like this peice of software.
That being said, I have a question. Is there any way in these forums to set up certain users with certain permissions? What I would like to have is some users have full read write, and then their subordinatess only have the read permissions for the same forum. Ideally this would be a forum permission. By that I mean that the permissions could be set for each forum, allowing the same user to have full permissions to some forums, and read only to other forums.
If there is no way to presently do this, does anyone know the page/pages that submit a post. My forum is for a private intranet and was thinking that I could check their NT group and accept/deny the post based on that. Seems a little sloppy, but I haven't really thought it through yet.
~Thanks for any help.

Hi, jturner.
I don't see many "ugly" things in Nikkol's usergroups MOD. I would have maybe modified the forum_admin page in a different way, in order to add or deny permissions to users, but anyway I think it's great, it has saved me lots of hours.
I also have my forum running in an Intranet, and I want to control accurately who sees what. Having more than 400 users, it would have really been a pain to set permissions individually for everyone, so I downloaded and installed this MOD, and I had everything set up in a couple of hours. |
Best Regards
