I'm having an error after uploading new forum files...
quote:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e37'
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'FORUM_ACTIVE_USERS'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly.
/forum/inc_func_common.asp, line 64
Anyone any ideas

You have updated your code files to use the Active Users mod, but have run the corresponding DBS file. You need to run it, though it may be difficult, because you won't even be able to login. Backup your current inc_header.asp, replace it by a base one and run the dbs file. After that restore your inc_header.asp. |

Active Users MOD Anonymous Posting MOD F.A.Q. Administration MOD Forum Rules MOD Hover Colors MOD SmileManager Plus MOD Birthdays MOD E-mail Reminder to Pending Members Header Cell Image MOD w/Gradient Pack Invite a Friend MOD
But how do I run dbs-file?
Thanks for the quick response |

Admin options > MOD setup
That would have been in the readme.
Do you mean you installed all these MODs without running a dbs file ? |

Yes, please read my post below then you understand why I did not (and did'nt know) that I needed to run a dbs file (I still do not know what that is, unless it's my databasefile). You should know I never in my life did anything like writing in ASP or creating/modding databasefiles

But I now have some other problems;
First: Now when I log on as any user I cannot change my profile. When I click on Profile it just reloads the main-forum-page instead of opening my profile page. When I want to open up a forum for anonymous posting I cannot set this option in the edit-forum-properties (the option is not there). When I go to the Admin Options I see the anonymous-posting-setup but in step 2 it tells me that I first need to set up a forum for anonymous-posting (wich I cannot). These both things also happend to me when I only use the anonymous-posting-mod in a clean Snitz.
second When I go into the Font/Table-Color-Code-Configuration and click on the question-mark to see the colortable I get this errormessage;
quote:
Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0400'
Expected statement
/showboat/forum-new/pop_config_help.asp, line 979
" <tr>" & vbNewLine & _ ^
When I replace the pop_config_help.asp with the one from a clean Snitz this error is gone (everything else seems to work).
You should know that the files I use are a copy of a working forum. I got these files here; http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=51865 I only kept my own db-file
So, enlighten me
And, ehh, thanks  |

Well, due to my many problems and finding no solution what so ever I will switch over to a different forum.

The problems you describe are easily avoided by installing one MOD at a time - using the instructions given, and testing each one (fully) before applying the next one.
But you're right, a different forum is probably best for you. |
