Hi!
This is from http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=51863.
"There is this nice feature to display the topics containing new messages since the last login. But it is pretty hard to find those new messages in those topics. You alway have to scroll down and look for the exact time to see what's new. It would be very useful to have links which bring you directly to the first new message in each topic."
This is particularly important if there is more than one page for this topic, so you don't even know on which page the new messages start.

with the current format of the forums this is not possible because the forum has no idea whether you have read a topic or not, all it knows is the last time you visited which has no relation to what you may have read when there. |

There is one mod which lets you jump to the first new post. It can be found in the archives of this forum and it is titled Mod JumpToPost. It doesn't work 100% as it uses the lastheredate session-variable (read a long post so the session times out and it doesn't work), but that is the only minus that I have noticed. |

The idea was to take the time of your last visit and jump to the first posting in each topic with a timestamp newer tahn this.

Looks interesting. The problem is that I would like someone to include it in his forum which I only visit. This requires a lot of manual changes. Files to just replace would be nice

Looks interesting. In the screenshots is it the one which shows the topic title followed by #somenumber? That would jump to the first unread?

No, that's a bookmark. All unread links will jump you to last read reply. |

I don't think anyone has done that. But if you want it for a forum that you just visit, how about asking the forum admin for that forum if it would be possible to add that mod? |
