Hi,

I've tried to convert Snitz 3.4.04 for Oracle 8i.

There was lots of problem but it is a success !!

I've modified all request for Oracle 8i (no join, to_char()etc...) but others requests stay.

I've add a parameter in config.asp (Const isDBTypeOracle), you change in False if you want a normal version.

I've add also a file (inc_language_msg.asp) for internationalization, only for front part (not admin) and in french (sorry I'm french).

You can download all sources in following link :
http://mgerbault.free.fr/snitz_ora/snitz_v34_04_sources_ora8i.zip

It contains :
- new source (v.3.4.04)
- script of database Oracle 8i
- part of datas for the database.

I don't support this version, so try to modify yourself if you want to improve this version.

Enjoy and thank you for your excellent forum ...<

Hi,

You will see a demo site in few weeks when my client will be OK with all functionnalities.

I correct few bugs due to convert request in Oracle. But I hope my internationalization version will be a good idea for future of this forum.

See you soon...

regards,

Mat<

Hi megerbault,

My name is Lihan Chen. I am from California, USA. Currently I am working on a project to create an intranet forum for our water agency.

The Snitz2000 works fine with the default access2000 database. However, our company only officially supports Oracle for web applications. I converted some of the tables and I started to realize that there maybe more to it.

I have downloaded the zip file you included in the thread. But I am not sure if this is the one that you intend to share with members. Or, do you have any newer versions? (I am not quite sure what you meant by "Sorry, it's done." message.)

In the future, can I pop some mails for your advices on converting to Oracle based forum?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I noticed the link is no longer active. Does anyone have updated sources for an Oracle conversion of the Snitz forums?<
