Forum was working fine this morning.. when I went back to look it gave me this

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Cannot open database ''. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.

/forum/inc_top.asp, line 42

This isn't the first time this has happened..

The first time, reinstalling fixed it, the second time burlee (my host) fixed it, (Said the problem was ASP memory leak.. in the code not the server)

Third time is NOT a charm

Thanks

Can you host explain why this doesn't happen when using SQL Server, and also happens with other scripts ?

I personally believe it's a server problem myself, but I'm new to all this... so who knows =o)

I also read elsewhere that installing access 2000 works to fix this problem.. is that available anywhere? (A2k)

Thanks

Ryan

They probably mean switch to using the Jet engine, you can use that connectionstring in the config.asp file even without converting the database to Access 2000.

Though that doesn't solve it either, I tried that here at the site.

Since this is the same problem as discussed overhere: http://63.219.181.102/forum/link.asp?TOPIC_ID=4887 I'm going to close this thread. It is easier when we keep the discussion in one place.
