Ok This may sound like a very newbie question but since I am I guess it is ok. I have been asked to upgrade my friends forum to the new version. Since I know little if anything about the snitz forum I need a little guidance. They are currently running v3.3.03 and they do not want to lose what they already have post wise. The address for the current forum is www.paintballcharleston.com/forum. Any help would be appreciated. The version they are running is having all kinds of issues and it does not have the features they want. I am hoping that instead of fixing what they have I can just upgrade it. Thank you.
Chris

Yeah, they can. All the info to be maintained is inside the DB. So I would suggest that you create a new folder, put the new version files inside, change config.asp to point to the DB they are using now and run setup.asp.

After doing this, rename the existing folder to, say, [b}old_folder[/b] and rename the new one to the initial name, so that the forum URL does not need to change. This should do it.

Take a backup of the db first as well and after the folder rename switcharoo be sure to check in your Admin Options that everything is pointing to the right place.

ALTHOUGH, that forum looked a bit customised, so but aware that you will have to re-apply all the changes made.
