I have a forum - www.rfidexchange.com which is using the latest Snitz code with the mod that allows the header, side and footer panels. I am using access as the database. All has worked well, and a post was made last night that sent the normal email notification. When I try to look at any of the topics on the site, I get the message that "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" - this showed as HTTP error 500, but this is the underlying problem. I downloaded the database and used compact and repair in Access, and uploaded it again, but no change in the error message.
Any ideas what is causing this - I have a copy of the forum from a few days ago, but I dont want to lose new posts if I can avoid it.

One extra piece of information - I uploaded my backup database but that shows the same problem. This is very strange - all the other tables work - the admin options work, the forum and the main categories are all visible and work - it is just when a topic is opened that it fails. |

Sorry about this! I tried something else - I logged on as the admin of the forum, and went to the latest post and "edited" it - the topic was immediately visible and I was able to edit it. However, when I try to open the post via the normal "click the link" I get the error. |

I think you are on to something there - however I cant seem to overwrite topic.asp, or to delete it in order to put the new version there. I have tried Dreamweavers FTP as well as a different program. I get a message saying the file is missing or corrupted. I know this is outside the scope of this forum, but is there a different way to delete this corrupted file to get the new one uploaded?

Yes - that was the problem - topic.asp was corrupted. I had to load a new folder and rename the old folder before I could get it working again, but thanks for help.
Any idea how a file would be corrupted - is there some security measure I am missing, or does this just happen from time to time?
