Hi there, I have checked the topic.asp over and over it all seems ok to me.

But some of my members avatars don't show at all (little red cross) and no avatars that I upload work either (same problem).

The avatars that I upload appear in the avatar admin options ok as well as the default ones but just don't appear in the posts.

I tried to upload a new avatar for a members and it didn't work so I tried to change it back to what he used to have and again red cross!!

My forum is www.sandflynet.co.uk/forum

Please if anyone can help, I am getting desperate.

I have just tried re-doing the topic.asp and still no joy.

Infact it doesn't appear that changes of members avatars are being saved at all. When I have selected a avatar for a member I click submit then go back to there profile and no avatar is selected.

Once a change is made it no longer works at all, avatars appear as red crosses in posts and it wont save the avatar in the profile.

The members whose avatars have not been touched are fine.

A text version of my topic.asp is here http://www.sandflynet.co.uk/topic.txt

Well, the one not showing has a link url of http://www.sandflynet.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=34

I would use that as a starting point to reverse-engineer your topic.asp

Is it definatley a problem with the topic.asp then?

Sorry I am n00b.

I am not sure what you mean by reverse engineer.

Thanks

It looks like that user does not have an avatar set? Look at the HTML source for that page
<img src=" " width="64" height="64" border="1">
There is no src attribute value, so there can't be any image .

If you are talking about the member "wirething" or "Ian", no they do not have any avatar set.

I am talking about my members "glassback" and "simbo". I simply cannot set them an avatar. Whichever avatar i set them it doesn't save and then they constantly have a red cross under there name. When I go back to their profile the avatar is not set, even if I have just set one for them. They are both on this page http://www.sandflynet.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4

Also no avatars that I upload singley are shown on anybodies posts, they appear as a red cross.

I am going to try and register a new member as:

Username: test
Password: test

And see if I can assign an avatar at all.

OK the plot thickens! Test worked fine so I looked deeper!

Members can assign an avatar to themselves and change it themselves, but when I as the administrator changes it for them by editing their profile, it appears as the red cross in their posts and does not save in their profile.

In addition, no matter who assigns them, avatars that I have uploaded via "avatar admin options" appear as red crosses, but appear fine in profiles.

Thankyou for your responses so far, hopefully this can be sorted without having to completely uninstall the MOD and reinstall it.

Check your database to see if data is being erased? Also, I would check the asp page that is called when you edit somebody's profile. It's probably not setup correctly. Topic.asp is fine if it can display some and not others.
