I used the MaxWebPortal system to create a news portal, but the true backbone is the Snitz forum. I have done some cool stuff with the forum code like adding a games section that keeps track of users scores.

Thanks a lot. It's been up for about 3 weeks, so the content is only getting started. We were able to spread it around a few college campuses right away, so we get a lot of visits. Of course, that keeps us motivated to make the content fresh. |

Yeah. The site was originally designed in Max Web Portal, although it has been modded so much that it doesn't really work the same way as it did originally.
It takes a lot of tedious programming and modifying of the Snitz database to include news and articles into the forum. I would suggiest starting with something like MWP and building off of it. I'm sure a lot of us like myself could have programmed the site from scratch, but that would take forever. |
