This mod is like a cross between active topics and slash mod. Instead of displaying the active topics since last visits, it's displayed the most recent topics that were posted on similiarly to the slash mod.
Pretty simple to install so no readme for this one. Just unzip the recent.asp page and add a link to it in inc_top.asp, like this:
<a href="active.asp"><acronym title="See what topics have been active since your last visit...">Active Topics</acronym></a> | <a href="recent.asp"><acronym title="See recent topics added...">Recent Topics</acronym></a> | <a href="events.asp"><acronym title="Events Calendar...">Events</acronym></a>
zip: www.calvsa.net/snitz31sr4/recent.zip
demo is my snitz test site, www.calvsa.net/snitz31sr4/recent.asp . Boy my inc_top menu is getting pretty filled up on this test site hehe . A better demo would be my production site www.iamviet.com/forum/recent.asp which has more posts to work around with.

just right-click the file, select properties, and uncheck read-only...should be fine after that.
i release stuff using interdev and I guess it sets file as read-only by default. I guess it's just easier for me to do it thru that then ftping server.
frankie..you welcome, glad it's useful to you as well.

AznKnight,
I have a question concerning your great production site; Does the article feature use something like a slash mod or content manager or is just a whole new innovation by alan the great??

every since adding this mod to my site, I find myself using "recent topics" more often to see new topics than using "active topics". Also stats server says recent.asp gets more hits than active.asp.

This could very easily be worked into the existing "Active Topics" page.

Hi!
I would like a mod like this, but with less things.
I would like it to look like on the first page of http://digitalrice.com/ but with the 5 most recently changed TOPICS.
Could you please make a mod like that for me? I know nothing about asp, so that would be great!!!!!!!
cheers /CHEETAH |

there's already such a mod that does what you just described, stockholm student. It's called slash mod by animedj. Pretty cool mod. Look for it in the MOD Add-on forum (w/code).
