That's a bit slower "peck-wise" than I was seeing the other day when I was looking the page timers were all pretty normal < 1sec

When you did the archive did you do an update forum post count ...

I used to find that my db had some issues and we have over 50000 hits a month and about 5000 posts a week and including archiving have around 300,000 posts ... this all on an access db ... basically if i archive and didn't do a update forum post count then the db may take up to 30 seconds or so to process a request when normally it was under a second ...

Oh and I should add to this that if you don't log into the board, that is you still have the username and password required up the top right hand side of the screen then it loads normally ... its only upon authentication that the slowness occurrs ...

So if you just click on the link without a cookie or valid account then it appears quick ... however, if you have an account then it takes forever ..
