It wouldnt be that hard to implement. Just add a column to FORUM_GUESTBOOK for the Member Id, then call it using he querystring, and each person would have there own. Might have to do some editing for the edit/delete options, but that wouldnt be that hard honestly.

Whats this member points thing your talking about?

oh i see...

You know how on some sites they give out member points and stuff for participating, referrals, how active users are, etc...which the users could trade in for cool stuff like t-shirts, caps, internet coupons, etc...

I'm planning on doing something like that on my site...

Guestbook Update:
Zip is updated, only file you need replace is guestbook.asp - I updated the display so now it only shows icq if the user entered there icq number, and only shows link to website if user submitted a website. That should be it (final version) unless a bug comes to attention.

AznKnight... why not just use the post count?..... oh nevermind, trade points for stuff, it just clicked. Sort of like Uproar, sounds pretty cool. If ya need any help, you know who to call :)

Da_Stimulator,

Any chance of adding 2 or 3 configurable fields? For things like Favorite Author, Favorite Book etc..that kinda thing.

Thanks

why not create a new table called FORUM_GB_OPTIONS and just call them from there... that way you don't limit the end user

Thats what I would do, this way these fields could be turned on and off.

Actually they could be added to the Config table

Leave at least one or two to be configured by the admin. Some of us (not me of course ) may need or want to have the odd thing and there.

Would it be a bad thing to just have the 6 fields be configurable?
