I was wondering if the forums has a program add-on to allow a blind person to enter the forum boards and post and reply to topics.
If not, then could someone tell me where I can find such a program add-on that would be compatible with the Snitz forum boards.
Thank-you.

I don't think you would be able to find or impliment something like this. Only thing I am thinking is software that worked with windows.

All you really needs is a screen reader. A program called JAWS for windows is really good about reading everything on a page. The only thing that a web page would need is alt text entries for pics etc.

A friend of hers says that she has a program on her computer that reads the text, but it won't allow her to enter the forums and she wants to participate in discussions on the forums.
I don't know if it's the JAWS program, but I'll ask her friend.
Where can I get this JAWS program at? Just in case, she doesn't have it. Will the JAWS program allow her to enter the forums as well?

Try this (no idea if it'd work)
Add a program (preferably freeware - make sure ur allowed to under the license agreement) like what i assume JAWS is (reads out text) to your site and add some link script to the topic script (i think its topic.asp - dont hav the files on this computer so not sure - could be post.asp) to link it to and run the program - hmm actually i dont think the program would recognise the posts as just text... worth a try tho...

I have access to JAWS, it is an expensive program from freedom scientific. I'll see what it does on the forums here.

I tried it, it reads the forums pages just fine with one exception, the view profile, email poster, view homepage, etc links that exist in every cell kinda get annoying after the 3rd time of hearing them.

There are quite a few settings that you can change in JAWS, probably could, but due to the nature of this machine and it needing to be ready for student in my labs I manage, I can't change too many of the settings.

there's and eval you can get to try at http://www.freedomscientific.com/fs_products/software_jaws5intro.asp

OK. Thank-you so much for your help.
I told her friend about the JAWS program and she was very happy to hear that it muight help her get to use the forums. When I tell her that it works on forums, she'll be extremely overjoyed.
Is the eval basic or does it have everything to it?

I checked out the website and there are a lot of downloads for the JAWS program.
Which download will she need to download for the eval?

She says that she has the JAWS program, but I don't know if she has the latest version of it.
I emailed her directly and asked her.
She doesn't know why it won't allow her to log on to the forums.
Assuming that she doesn't have the latest version of it, would she need the newer version of the program to gain access to the forum boards.

Just thought that I would update everyone here. Gabi, the blind woman from Hungary that I was telling everyone about, is now a registered member of the forums on the Scorpions webiste. She can finally enter the forum boards and post. She'll be logging in and posting later on this evening (Hungarian Time) and everyone is looking forward to her first post.
I just want to thank everyone for all of your help in helping her. She would also like to thank everyone too.
Again, thanks everyone so much. You've been a great help.
