I installed a copy of Snitz and it seems to be working well. Yet, while going over my notes I realized I didn't convert the database, just installed the one that came with the package.

I put the Forum on a NT server, CentralInfo.net, and used Frontpage 2k. It all went smooth and seems to be working okay. It is at http://Forum.Tabic.net.

Question is, do I need to convert the database for technical reasons, or licensing?

No, there is no reason to convert the database.
