Can you believe the amount of spelling mistakes in that e-mail? On top of that, I don't have any Citibank credit cards... |

Whoa if I were to scam someone I'd at least make sure everything was spelled right. I cannot believe how low some people go to get some money for nothing. |

Someone should reply using an email address from one of the "help me get my stolen money" scammer emails. Let the scammers scam each other.
I'm sure that the 3rd world country dictators would love to know that their overseas accounts with ill gotten cash are under investigation. |

In the last couple of months several banks customers here in NZ were hit with similar scams, seems to be comming a lot more common place though.
... hmm think I've told you guys of this one before, but its still funny (well it's not really if you were dumb enough to have done it). I can't recall exactly where it happened but iirc it was somewhere in central USA.
The thieves placed a cardbox box on or near the ATM machine with a message written upon it stating that the ATM machine was broken and could not process deposits, customers were to instead place their deposits in the cardboard box and the bank would collect it and manualy deposit their money later that day.
Yes people really fell for this ! |

What typos? I always spell difficult words at least three different ways in my emails so I'll be sure I get it right once

Yes you do. You might not know it, but these people have ESP and know you have a Citibank credit card. Stop denying now |

That reminds me... A few months ago I got a call from Bank One asking me if I had received my Credit Card yet, and they were wondering why I hadn't called to activate it yet. I argued with them for about 10 minutes that I didn't have a Bank One Credit Card, that I had never had one, and didn't plan on getting one. Turns out that I had gotten one, the Amazon.com credit card I had applied for was from Bank One. I thought that I had read it was from CitiBank, but it was from Bank One. I had only planned on using it at Amazon.com so I hadn't called to activate it. |

As I work in the eCommerce area of one of the largest banks in Australia and now the largest in NZ (Gremlin would know who I mean, grin), I see it happening all the time. The poor buggers need to at least spell as sr erick stated..
I have had 3 of the phoney web sites closed down with in 30 mins of finding them over the last 6 months..
Why don't they just destroy their own lives and steal at home and cop a clip around the ear when the steal a smoke from their mums purse.
