Close to being harsh for the eyes your colors, but actually not, I would never have picked so strong colors myself, though I do have picked some strong colors on my forums. But actually I think your colors work alright ;-) Keep up the good work ;-)

It is kind of hard to tell when you cant actually go into the forums but have to "look at the front". From what I can see the contrast is too bright and the red on yellow-orange is a little hard on the eyes. After deciding on a better color scheme, maybe you could add some gradients, too?
