and I really hope someone can help me fix it. I finally got brave and decided to add the calender mod to my forum. Since I'd never added a mod before, when I read the readme.txt, I interpreted it as saying if there are no other mods, you can just use the files as is, so that's what I did. In the config.asp file, I need to change the database information, but now I can't remember how I had it set up to begin with. I had trouble with this when I initially set up my forum, so I've been reading that threadhttp://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=48886&whichpage=1, and it doesn't seem to have the info I need. Could someone please help me get my forum set up properly? I think most or all of the info you need is in the other thread. Thank you! Maria |

I need to add, a couple of weeks ago I reformatted my hard drive, and when I tried to access my FTP, it wouldn't let me, so I had to change the name of the folder to "Cartier", instead of cartierfarms.com so I could get in. |

That did the trick, redbrad0, thank you very much! It seemed the harder I tried to fix it myself, the bigger the mess I made! I do have one other question, for you or anyone else. Now that my forum is back up, I see that the calender background is black. I saw another thread about that, but he fixed it himself, so there was no explanation of how he did it. Could someone tell my how to change the background color? And type slowly, I'm not very good at this. |

That didn't help, it's still black. I'm not sure what the calender is actually supposed to look like, but on my forum, it's a small black box with the following text in it: "Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0005' Invalid procedure call or argument: 'WeekDayName' /forum/cal_functions.asp, line 38 "
Does that mean anything? |

Well I appreciate your efforts, redbrad0. And I really appreciate the fact that you helped me get my forum back up. That was my main concern. |

I need to call it a night, but if anyone has any ideas for changing the background from black, I will be checking here first thing in the morning. I did try making a change in the cal_style.asp, but it didn't help. Thank you Maria |

OK, if getting the calender to appear and function properly isn't an option, could someone tell me how to remove it from my forum? Before I added it, I backed up my database, but I realize now I should have backed up all the other files, too, and I didn't. Can I remove the calender without messing up the board again? One more thing, I would really like to add the smiley manager, but now after making such a mess of things with the calender mod, I'm a bit gun shy. Is the smiley mod harder or easier than the calender mod? I was reading the readme file for it, and I saw where it says to make changes to certain files, but I have no idea what changes I'm supposed to make. I'm thinking, if I already got stuck just reading the readme file, maybe I should just forget about adding that mod, but I'd really like to add it, so I just need to know how complicated it is for a novice. Thanks! Maria |

I see you gave up . I wanted to ask if you had updated your data-base in "admin options" . And make sure all the new files are there. |

No, I don't think I did that. Is that what I should have done? Would that have fixed the calender? I've managed to restore everything back to normal (I think), and in the process, I think I gained a better understanding of how to fix my mistakes (which is good, because there are many ) I still would really like to have the calender, and the smilie mod, so at some point I will try again. Thanks Crypto9t! Maria |

I don't know if that will fix it or not. That is the first thing you should do after you make sure all the new files are there and all the old files have been updated. You may have done this allready. go to admin options and then mod set-up, you should see the dbs file for the calender mod. Click "update" and it will add th new tables to the data-base. I have never used this mod but I seen that you replaced your files with the modded files and I thought it should work if modded files are right . If you do try again remember to "backup" all the files you are changing. That way if it don't work out youcan just put them back like it was. |
