Before you shoot me: I love Snitz, but I'm faced with a move to a webserver that doesn't run ASP, and it's not my call. I am very sad to have to leave Snitz!

I have 766 posts and 27 users in my Snitz Forum v3.4. I don't want to move every entry manually, and I don't want to move the database records manually. I have to find a way to get everything into a new forum system...

any ideas how to do this?
any recommendations for what forum tool to use instead? (I've got access to CGI, Perl and PHP.)

Any comments would be highly appreciated!

Kind regards,
Torben Gundtofte-Bruun

Once you see the format of the new system you choose, you should be able to write a program that easily pulls each message from the snitz database into the new database. This is a fairly simple task to do for a database programmer, so I wouldn't attempt doing it by hand. :)

Well, this assumes I'm a programmer or a database programmer. I'm just a simple webgeek. I know JS and some DHTML, but ASP and databases are way out there. That's why I chose Snitz instead of coding my own. I don't expect that anybody would write such a conversion program for me.

Considered just moving the forum to one of the free ASP hosts out there ?

See here for some recommendations: http://hifi-konsulenten.dk/asp/
