can you do this for us, after all it is easy for you, so you implied |

They would would probably be more pissed off with endless popups lol, and if you never had such a mod in the first place it wouldn't make much difference to your users
But seriously I do agree it would be better if it could popup with every new pm, I will have another look at the code to try and improve on it see what I can do
The only problem would be if the session was reset in some way, they would keep getting the popup, that was the whole point of the mod in the first place to not to annoy users, it would have to be reset only if they had read the pm, I'll have a think. |

I have a PM Notification mod setup.... but most of my users view PM's right away, or after they finish reading a topic. To stop it from poping up would be more of a bonus for my users, rather than not have it showup at all after they get their first PM of a session.
If nobody patches the cookie deal, I'll do it later tonight/tomorrow. |

yes, I have tried loging in/out, new browsers, from text links and no luck. I use IE6 which has the progress loading bar in the bottom and it completes - yet no popup |

Do you actually have <!--#include file="privatemess2.asp"--> or <!--#include file="privatemess.asp"--> in inc_header.asp (depending on which one you use and edited)
I take it your forum was the "Point Blank" one? cus if it is then it doesn't look like you have the includes. |

actually no, I have it in default.asp though as per the instructions to install the PM mod
note: weeweeslap joined the site after speaking on AIM and he had the same result - not working.

Yes I did register at your forums to see, the reason it isn't working as the there's no include, in your header.
Its the code here in privatemess.asp or privatemess_top.asp Response.Write " - You have <font color=""" & strForumLinkColor & """>" if pmcount >=1 then That code checks to see if you have any pm`s, if you do it then activates my code (the popup) below that, without that code it wont work. |

I guess I'm thouroughly confused now
where and when was the include supposed to be added to inc_header.asp? Maybe I misread your original post but I know I just went through the docs again for the PM mod and it never mentioned adding it there but to add it into default.asp ?
weeweeslap confirmed that his include is also in default.asp like mine - but your saying that wont work? But he did mention his install worked.
....lost is me LOL |

I just remembered this I added which may be the cause? Its the active users/PM location mod from MKIV which calls for the normal include in default.asp calling privatemess.asp to be deleted or commented out.
diplayed on top of my page as: (i see you use it as well) [ Active Members: 3 | Guests: 1 ][Total: 4][Newest Member: rasure][1 new message]
his mod:
