I wonder if anyone has added in a mouseover option for this mod to show 'Posted by MemberName on Date'. I think this would be a very useful addition. |

Hi, I tried including the simple_slash.asp into my default.asp but I keep on getting this error message.
Error Type: ADODB.Recordset (0x800A0BB9) Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another. /Snitz/inc_func_common.asp, line 212
I am curent;y using MSAccess and I already have the cookies set to website. Does anyone have any clues as to how to fix?
Thanks |

Forget about the last problem, I solved it somehow. But right now, something else doesn't work.
I can't set the FORUMID to anything else but "ANY" or else I get some kind of error.
And the page stops loading after the include statment in my home.asp
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks |

will this mod have the ability to display information outside of the forum directory? Sorry if it is a dumb question but I have been looking for this for quite some time |

If it doesn't do it out of the box, the changes to make it work that way wouldn't be too hard. |

So I can put all these files in my "forums" folder, install and update database then call the items out of the forums directory to a directory higher up the directory structure that would include the default pages of my site?

I followed the instructions to a "T" http://forums.sixgunner.com/inc_simple_slash.asp
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
/inc_simple_slash.asp, line 46

This is the line giving me the error. I guess I am having a hard time understanding because everything else works! No connection string problems.
objConn.Open strConnString
is it possible that the connection string will not work because I am calling this page as a test direct? will it work if I place the include on a page and initiate it that way?
Cookie issues?
HELP PLEASE!
thanks :) |

Hey, it works!
Just one quick thing, the link "More>>" is referencing a path that does not exist. it is not linking to the correct directory. I am using the simple_slash mod outside of my forum directory completely. it is in another website altogether. can be viewed at http://www.sixgunner.com/default2.asp and it also kills the rest of the entire pages content after it loads the table.
any thoughts?
thanks, |

I still see an error from inc_func_common, but it sounds like you're a lot closer than that to get it to work.
Maybe you just need to tweak the code near the More>> link, I remember having to do the same, but my code was trashed months ago otherwise I would tell you straight away. It IS possible, you CAN do it! |
