you should replace it with an animated gif which displays a message one letter at a time, saying that the site is stolen |

You should change your server so that a .gif file gets interpreted by ASP.DLL then you you could have some real fun (not 100% if this would work but I have do this for other file types).

Would it be possible to sue the site owner for infringement or at least send them a letter.
They may or may not know that their design is a ripoff of your original work. Let them put the squeeze on the designer.
You could always sue, although I don't know how far it'd get you to sue a peewee hockey league team.

David, If you are allowed to intall isapi filters, I can write you one that will trap the request for the image and divert the webrequest to an address of your choosing, so you could hijack their site if you want. |

Shameful.
"Our expertise:

They should add something like experience in getting stuff of other peoples sites. |

You know, you could always threaten to start approaching this guy's customers. If this guy is willing to steal your design, it's entirely possible that he'd steal other designs.
Maybe he'd reconsider ripping off your work if you suggested that you might approach his customers with your story. No business person wants to open to potential lawsuits becuase the web design firm they hired stole someone else's work.
Acccording to his site, this company has worked on these web sites:
carsystem.ca belmontlift.com dwarmstrong.ca
It's a bit on the strong arm side, but if you feel that's what's necessary... |

Found someone who had ripped off my design and logo a while back. I only found him/her when I noticed there site as a referer linking to ... my custom cursors. So, I replaced the cursors he was linking to with empty .cur files and watched traffic to his/her site drop! One of these days I'll be in a particularly bad mood and drop them a "friendly" e-mail informing them that I do not appreciate being ripped off. Still, they do say imitation is the highest form of flattery ...!

Did anyone notice this in the source code: <!--<tr> <td align="center"><A target="_blank" HREF="http://forum.snitz.com/halloffame.asp"><img src="images/logo/logo_snitz_award_june.gif" border="0"></A></td> </tr>//-->
Personally I'd try to find information to contact someone in charge of that hockey team. Unfortunately the WHOIS info only shows information that looks like it's from the host, and the webmaster link on the team page is one belonging to that of the "designer", which I doubt will get you very far...
MeTV, is the black hand cursor on that site yours too, or did they put in their own? |

It is indeed, Roland, I changed it back for a reason ... which eludes me at the moment! |

I've had to threaten with legal action once or twice when people used my images without permission. It's never nice when you have to let it go that far, but sometimes it's the only thing they'll listen to.
Sorry to see people steal your design David. |

Looks like somebody's been reading this topic, have a look at the bottom of the Panthers' page. They've also removed the background from the header.
