Greetings all:
Well it took longer than I had hoped, due to trying to find time to do this... but it's up. www.brew-monkey.com It's not complete, but up and functional. I have put together a site about homebrewing, rating beer, beer education, pairing beer with food and so on. If you are interested in beer, check it out. I accept articles by members to post, should you be so inclined.
Thanks,
Chris |

It looks good, but I'd put the forum in the white area of your page (so the same top banner and left menu appears on the forum pages).
Also, doesn't your site maintenance take a long time ? Being all done in plain HTML ? |

Yes, it does take some time, but I am not a web guy... so the other pieces are somewhat foreign to me. I thought about putting it in the whitespace but I didn't want it to look squished, maybe I'll try that at some point. Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it.

I like the sites topic anyway :) .. brewing used to be a bit of a hobby of mine. We're kinda fortunate in NZ that we can legally distill spirits at home too! |

There's an extra > after the last closing table tag on the site's homepage, and the events page has a fixed width table that's set to above-normal width (1024, while 750 is recommended to also accommodate 800x600px resolutions). The recipes and reviews links don't work, but I'll just assume that's because the site's not done yet, as you said in your original post
As for the forums... they look like the base install with a different logo. Sorry, but a little customisation will be needed to get me jumping up and down |

Thanks. It's a great hobby. I get lost in my own world while brewing- a definately needed break from the rest of life. Plus what other hobby do you get to enjoy an end result like your own beer? |

Roland,
Thanks for the input. I fixed the extra > and the events page is more or less a semi functional place holder. I am in the process of making it php, which not being at all versed in any type of coding takes me awhile. The customization thing... yeah I am not sure what to do to it - suggestions are welcome.
Thanks. |

If you're going to make your site PHP-based, wouldn't it make more sense to also use a PHP forum?
As for customization... I'd look into the Site Integration MOD by D3mon, a color scheme that fits the one on the site, and perhaps some beer-related images. |
