Wow! I have not looked at this post in a while :)
My couple of updates has changed quite a lot then LOL
So, for an idiot like me... what is the summary of the updates? There seems to be a lot of links to things here :)
I'd appreciate the summary (or the first post being updated)
Cheers,

I am quite new to admin my forum, and I am not quite sure when the active_users MOD was installed in our forum, but it seems it took place mid december 2003. Anyway; how do I update the MOD for the latest script concering bots/spiders/harvesters? Is it a simple job of just deleting everything copy+paste Chucks script? On to which .asp-file? Do I delete the previous asp-code in the same file before pasting?
Thanks a bunch,
Lars gj |

MarkJH: not seen that myself (ps. mark I've been trying to contact you to update the script you are using but I've had no reply from both the admin email address and the contact form)
Lars_Gj: Copy and paste my code into a new file called active_users2.asp , save it to your site, then view the file a couple of times to make sure everything works. once you are happy then you can replace your current active_users.asp with my one.
The latest script can be downloaded here. |

Thanks, Chuck McB for your instructions. I took a backup of the ols active_users.asp, and then sent your directly to work. It seems to work fine! Thanks!
But some are never satisfied: "The guest list is all cluttered up! We used to be able to tell the guests from the robots! Not so now!"
So, how do i fix it, so that robots n harvesters DO come in a separate table.
Cheers

It's really odd. Usually happens when it's a spider surfing rather than a guest or member. On copying the URL into the address bar, sometimes the page exists, sometimes it doesn't.
Not sure why I haven't seen your emails. I do suffer from a heavy spamload. Perhaps I overlooked the email and deleted. Please try again! |
