My website is parked on a free host and lately i have run into bandweith problems (ie. i am going over the limit) ... so, i am thinking that if i have a main (entrance) page that quickly redirect all traffice (split the traffic) to either the main website or a mirror website that way, the traffic for each site would half as much(1/2 the bw ussage) How could i do this? Is there a more efficient way of doing this?

again, this is what i have in mind:
--------------------> main site (index2.asp)

www.site.com --> index.asp (html) -------------------|
--------------------> mirror (mirror.asp)

Would these be a database driven site? If so is it access, sql? You need to think about this if your going to be sending users to two totally different sites.

index.asp (and it would need to be ASP) could generate a random number - 1 or 2, and then redirect to a site. BUT, if this page is hosted on your freebie server (let's say Brinkster) you'll never get to the file because the hoster intervenes when you are over the limit. So you'll need 3 servers :

1. Front page with randomiser
2. Mirror #1
3. Mirror #2

or shell out for your own hosting space with a good bandwidth limit on it
