I'm looking for contact management/CRM software. Ability to have database of names, addresses, phone numbers. Add notes about prospects, clients. Would be good to be able to export the name/address info into Word for letter templates.
There are 3-4 people in my office. 2 more will probabaly be working outside the office.
For that reason, I'm not sure if the entire application should be web based. An online accessible calendar to coordinate everyone's schedules would be great.
Anyone have any good suggestions for software? Is there any good open source software? Seems like some of the smaller vendors get bought out or phase out a product and drop support.
I welcome sites to search for open source too. I was checking aspin.com earlier.
Thanks for any feedback or suggestions.

Thanks dayve. I'll try those out as well as consider some others that I've found.
Just as an fyi to the community, it seems that there are more groupware programs written in php/perl vs. asp. |

Okay, I decided why go with an inferior solution using a language that I do not know? I will also use Snitz for my work intranet. I just installed the new events calendar mod which should work great!
Anyone else using snitz for an intranet? Any other suggestions for useful mods for this purpose?
Thanks. |

I've been working on setting one up in an Intranet environment. I'd use the calendar (like you already are), Content Display Mod, Links Manager, File Upload (if there's one available, I can't remember but I was about to look for one), and maybe Private Messages and the Poll Mod. I think the Content Display Mod is crucial for something like that because it enables you to display tidbits of important info in one place. I thought about trying to implement the Ocean12 contact manager into Snitz somehow but I gave up on that for some reason. |

Also found the phone directory mod. This mod changes the link in the navigation menu from 'Members' to 'Phone Directory'. Adds these fields for members.asp: phone, ext, fax, cell/pager, department.
Cannot use for external (non forum) members.
Works well. |
