Before I go into the whole deal LOL it might be easier to mail me back on this...if not then it's all good...phenexfire@hotmail.com

Ok I added the avatar mod to the forum. there were no error messeges at all....but here is my problem..in the forum the picture does not show up, the when I check the picture link it is missing the directory and the file name of the pic....in the review/edit avatars it has the full path of the picture and it displays it....what did I do wrong?

PS... I had to post this as it's own topic cause I posted into another persons avatar issue and no one was lookin LOL figured this would be better.

Just running the "Check Installation" link from the admin options page, it should load the application variables.

Nope, no good. It still not working. what I can tell is the avatar image in the avatar aditor area..it shows the whole url when you get properties on the image itself. but when you goto the forum it is not completing the url path to said image....

correct me if I am wrong, but a flawless install would mean it is working. I believe you did something wrong or somehting is not configured right.

What I mean by flawless install is when I ran the installer on the mod install area it had no error messeges..and I entered all the code per the instructions that were included...the url is http://gkiclan.servegame.com I do think that someplace in there I may have messed up...but I am pretty sure I did it per insturction....Like I had said before..the image shows up in the edit review area with a full url to the image...but in the forum while looking at posts it shows the url up to the forum. I did notice something else. I cannot upload or mass upload anything there either and it does not create folders to drop them in when you give it a folder to make. It just says the image was uploaded and then nothing.....very wierd.

Hi there all you most intelligent and honorable Snitz-people

Have exactly the same problem ...

I have installed the Avatar Mod in my forum, and everything seems to be working except the actual showing of avatars in topics/posts...

I can upload avatars in the admin section, I can choose an avatar in my memeber profile, and it shows the avatar there, but it doesn´t show correctly in topic/posts....

does the error lie in the topic.asp file? I have checked and double checked the file according to the instructions in the avatar mod instructions.....

Hi berthek, I looked at your source and I see this
<img src=" " width="32" height="32" border="0"><br /><br />

You height and width are showing up and you say you can view them in your profile, so I would start by checking the spelling in all lines of topic.asp. Especially where it says "Reply_MemberAvatar".
Hope this helps

I have the same sounding problem.

I edited the files as described and ran the admin mod update - all appeared to be ok.

I cannot "admin upload" - the screens work - but nothing gets uploaded?
If i ftp an avatar to the site i can then "Review/Edit", "apply setting", and select avatars in a users profile.

The avatar does not showup on the forum when posting topics.

Any help please
PS (using forum 3.4.04)

Did some playing about.

If the Topic.asp files is updated with the changes for version 3.4.03 The avatars are correctly displayed on the "forum" pages.

The upload still does not work?

Ahh - fixed it, NTFS directory permissions did not have write access to the "web user" account
