Hi Guys...

This Mod was working until recently, and I am sorry but I cannot remember what I did that broke it

Two symptoms:

1. If I try to change the Avatar settings (size, border etc) on the menu item, they do not save.

2. All uploaded avatars are 1 x 1 pixel (therefore not visible)

God only knows what I have done, and I would appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance.

Nick

Have you made any changes to topic.asp and/or config.asp?

Run Check Installation afterwards from the admin section, then go to avatar setup and try again to change the options.

Hi Jan,

I am not sure... I had not noticed the problem until now

It is possible that the announcements mod may have been installed after the avatar mod.

I ran the check installation and all seemed fine. Still the same problem with the Avatars however

Interesting update.......

This does NOT happen in the Opera Browser, only internet explorer with the latest hotfixes.

A lot of users are now reporting this on our forum.

Could you post a link to your forum, so that I could see the error for myself?

Ok, it seems as if the height and weight for the avatar images isn't stored correctly in the application variables.

If you check the forum variables in the admin section, does the application variable for the avatar height and weight contain anything or are they empty?

Recheck your config.asp and see if you have all the necessary code for the avatar mod there. Especially intAvatarWidth and intAvatarHeigh.

Hi Jan,

Sorry, I have been away.

I will take a look at the config.asp - in regard to the admin section, that is correct from what I can see, but it does not save the variables any more.

I will report back soon.

Sorry Jan,

inc_avatar.asp is the file I should be looking at right? that has these entries, they seem right.

What is odd is that it works if I use Operas web browser as opposed to IE's

Ahaha!

Thanks Jan (Again).

Missing one of the DIM statements.. Somehow there were two config.asp files on the server... can't think how that happened!

What I meant with checking the forum variables, is that in your admin section, you have a link titled Forum Variables Information. Choose that one and check for intAvatarHeight and intAvatarWidth.

Also, do intAvatarHeight and intAvatarWidth appear in your config.asp?

I checked your forum again, and avatars seems to work ok in IE (6.0.2600) now, or?

Basically give the user pictures for their profile.

I am looking now for the mod that lets the user upload their own ones. [;D]
