Hi every one !!!
I have the SNITZ Forum on my intranet system, I use the NT autologon, so no need for login or registration. Every thing was going fine, the forum was adding the members automatically to the database along with their login ID's (UserName), till yesterday, I had a problem, the Forum is not accepting new members anymore, that is, if a new user (who did not visited the forum before) tried to get into the forum, once he clicks on the link (default.asp), an error message will show:
There was a Problem with your details, username already in use, please choose another.
I'm using MySQL DataBase on Windows 2000 server/IIS 5.0
Your help is really appreciated....
Thanks in advance |

Hi Nikkol
No, I didn't install any MODs, what I've done after I've seen this problem is that I've applied all the hot fixes mentioned in the site.
I tried to make several tests:
I created a new login ID in the intranet network, I added this login ID in the Forum_members table manually without filling up the password field, I used this login ID to login to the intranet and access the Forums, I was able to see the Forums, but the following message shows in the top: Please register to post in these forums
I tried to register, it gave me a message that this NT username is already registered !
I feel that the forum is not able to add users to the table..

Malhebsi,
Did you ever figure this one out? My intranet forum will be like yours except using MS SQL server. I plan on 2-3K users. How many users does yours have? I'd hate to go through implementation and have it crap out later. How do you test for 2-3k new users?
Thanks! |
