I'm looking for recommendations on file recovery software. A friend of a friend is suing someone and they'd like to recover deleted emails from their PC hard disk.
Suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.

You could try the norton utilities undelete. But like Gremlin said, don't hope for much. You can only recover disk sectors that haven't been overwritten by another file, and with an active system free disk space is reused pretty quickly.
Or you could just not delete any emails. I use outlook and create pst files for a range of dates, like quarterly, then when it's time for a new pst I burn the old one on cd for archive purposes.
