I am looking for a script to allow my users to build their own website on my server. I am wanting the script to be built in ASP but the sites that they build can only be built in HTML. I want it similiar to geocities (not to picky) and I want it free. I have searched and searched the internet and it seems the best free ones are in CGI and I dont know a thing about CGI. Please let me know. Thanks!
Someone gave me this link a while back but I've never had the chance to check it out and see what it does or how it works, but it sort of sounds like what your looking for.
I tried it out. Lots of problems with it. First the script's dirctories all begin ../ in the files. My server doesnt like this so I would have to go to all the files and cut the ../ out of all directories. Second because of this it will not go back to the main directory then to a different directory such as the database file. Just wondering if anyone had anything else to offer.
Why not just set your server to allow "Parent Paths" or ask your host to enable it for you.
You can also update all files very quickly using any of the freely available file scan and replace tools (I usualy just use Visual Studio to do it personally)
Well I am still looking. There were several things I didnt like about it. Thanks for the suggestion and any other scripts you or anyone else may have would be appreciated. If I cant find a better one I will come back to the one you recommended.
