I just bought it and will install it in a minute. I was just wondering who else has got it so far, and what your experiences with the new versions of Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash are

I'll post my own first impressions once I have the software installed and running.

Didn't even realise it was out actually, be interested to hear your opinions, not sure I'm ready to fork out more money on Macromedia products right now I seem to be using Visual Studio for almost everything code wise lately.

I'll have to give it a try at home tonight. Unfortunately I've been a bit too busy at work to really try it out although the new colors look a lot better, and there's a tabbed interface for opened documents now. That'll save a lot of time 'cause I won't have to use Alt + W to switch between open documents all the time anymore...

Based on the trial download, I'm not sure it's worth the upgrade fee for hand-coding developers. Seems to me a lot of the enhanced features could have been included in the previous version since they're mostly Homesite imports.

Just downloaded the trial too, won't have a chance to play with it for a few days though, does it still start to slow down after opening a handfull of documents ? I felt the last version had a kinda of "buggy" and "slow" feel about it personally.

Seems quite swift now in that respect. At least you can close all open documents (shift-ctrl-w) and search and replace in all open documents now which are features I sorely missed in moving from Homesite 5.

Dreamweaver MX had a tabbed interface for open pages. However, the open pages had to be maximized rather than floating and the tabs were at the bottom. I just installed the trial of MX 2004 so I'll report my thoughts later.

Fireworks MX didn't, but it does now.

I haven't really tried anything yet, but I'm going to install it now and see how it works, also if they (Dreamweaver and Fireworks) slows down when a couple large files are opened.

Bastards - My company just purchased a license to MX studio in mid-July. They don't offer any upgrading except the $399 level 2 upgrade. The new features don't even seem to be worth the money. The only thing I wonder about is whether the site caching and connections have improved for LAN site connections. Trying to use MX over a VPN to get and put files was absolutely miserable. Other than that, I think I'll sit this version out...

OOOHHH!, what really gets my goat is that as of yesterday, they were offering a free upgrade from Contribute 1 to Contribute 2 if you purchased Studio MX after mid-June. In order to claim your free upgrade, you needed to fill out an online form, but of course the web page with the form was conveniently unavailable.

Today, that information about the free upgrade has mysteriously disappeared...

Fireworks MX 2004 seems to have a lot of improvements. It sucks that Dreamweaver MX 2004 still can't do previews of pages made up out of includes or with variables (even hard coded ones) though... Or maybe I've missed something

I have been using DW MX trial version for a few weeks now and I am very impressed with what i have seen so far. It is as comfortable to work in, as it is in Homesite. I have been using Homesite for at least 3 years and is my editor of choice. But DW MX integration with Homesite is pretty good. It makes me want to switch.

I have never been impressed by any of the Dreamweaver versions. But they have done well in this version. I am really liking it.

Just my .03 worth.

I thought when Dreamweaver went to the MX version was really good. I have the new 2004 version but have not messed with it yet.

They mentioned serious CSS upgrades, so I'm looking forward to it.

I still haven't gotten around to really trying the MX 2004 programs... Last night my brother wanted to play a computer game (I had him buy himself something for his birthday, but he forgot to make sure the game would run on his computer, and it won't. So he has to use my computer to play it ) and by the time he was done I didn't feel like messing around with it anymore.

Today I'm going to see if I can come up with any ideas for a new website. That ought to give a good impression of how things have changed.
