This morning I had TinyKeyCounter activated and was typing up some e-mail and my computer froze. But after I shut it down, I had to go to school. And now, when I got home, the computer was already on (parents) but the program wasn't on, or even on my desktop. I looked where the folder was, and that too was gone. I did a search also, and that didn't turn up anything. My parents said that they didn't delete anything either (which they never have). Any ideas? |

Have you re-started the PC ?
After re-starting, take a look at Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, and check if the program is there. |

I've restarted a few times. It never shows in the Add/Removes Programs box though. Nor does the folder itself come back. |

Sounds strange - what kind of program is TinyKeyCounter? Do you have some info about it? Not all programs will show in the Add/Remove Programs. |

if the C:\Program Files\KeyCount directory is gone, and you don't have a backup of the .ini file, you've basically lost all counted key strokes, mouse scrolls and clicks. AFAIK there's very little you can do about it unless you have a recent backup of the files somewhere... |

Its a program that records how many key strokes, mouse clicks, and scrolls you make. See this thread- http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=43675
Just saw what Frutzle said ****it, I had around 30,000 key strokes too . Well, maybe that'll remind me to make backups when I get a good amount of key stokes in . Thanks for that info. |

Just enter a few chats and you should have them back in no time I chat a lot, and haven't sent in my key/scroll/click counts in a long time, so if I'd lose the counts, it'd set me back 1.1 milion keys, 157.000 clicks and a mere 38.000 scrolls. Maybe I should try sending them, it might help get Snitz a better position ... if the team stats are working again Scratch that... I just managed to submit my keys/scroll/click counts, after it froze my firewall and keycount.exe twice |

Lol, you were right about that. I went into a teen chat in Yahoo and I got 25,000 keys in an hour . It didn't hurt that I got into a pissing contest with another guy in there, so thats where most of them came from |

TKC saves counts to disk periodically iirc (not running it any longer).
Did you get to the bottom of why it dissappeared ? |

On my machine the icon would disappear sometimes, and when I tried to restart it manually, I was told it was already running. So, in my case, the icon would disappear, but the program was still running.
s_f--have you done a CTRL+ALT+DEL to see whether it's running? |

I ended up finding the .zip file; it was named tkc-release-1-5. So thats why it didn't show up on the search. and amazingly my counts were still there. Is that normal Testmagic- The icon was gone from the taskbar too, and it wasn't in the CTRL+ALT+DEL menu either. |

Explorer didn't crash, did it? That's the only time icons have disappeared from near the clock for me. Glad to hear you still have your counts |

Thats probably why, 98 wasn't exactly the most stable OS ever made. |
