After creating a new (user)profile you will get the "profile created OK"
message, but after that it refreshes with "There was a problem....."

I had this on my copy, but it is the same on your site :-))

Where did you click on "Register" from?

I registered through the Register-link on top of the main-page, just tried it again.
First time a registrered a new username today it went OK (after "OK" to mainpage).
Then I tried a second (different) username and after "Login Ok" it redirected to :

There Was A Problem With Your Details

You must choose a UserName
You must choose a Password
You Must give an email address
You Must enter a valid email address
Email Address already in use, Please Choose Another

Then I logged in with my "fred" account, after login the same happens, first "Login OK" and then redirected to the "There Was A Problem With Your Details"-page.

I think something goes wrong when a cookie from an earlier session is detected ?

I will erase all cookies from snits and try again.......

Default.asp, topics.asp, forums.asp, members.asp, etc...

I am getting the same message about a duplicate email address but I am using the NT login. I only started getting this after the sr4 release update.

I have a similar problem with sr4. However, I have complicated the situation and that may mean it doesn't apply to this topic...

What I have done: My forum is "locked down" so that new members must be setup by the admin, and only then can they visit the forums (using a sitewide login).

In part, I have setup up policy.asp and register.asp to use an include file that looks for both a logged-in user and an "admin session" (or redirect). Thus I have to sign into the forum with an admin account, then signin to the additional admin login, and only then visit policy.asp to initiate a new-user setup.

The problem: Because of the way I have constructed things, when I "submit" the completed new user info, it stuffs the database, and then goes to log me in as the "new user" (the default behavior). Naturally, this doesn't work.... It reports instead that "There's a problem..." blah, blah.

What I have found is that the problem is that the "user level" is not getting set. (I assume this is because I am already logged in with an admin session, but what do I know.) Logged in as Admin, I have to edit the new user's profile from the members page and manually set the user level (when I first pull up the profile, the user level is blank). Then the account works fine. So, until I have time to deal with it, I just go through the steps.

Again, this may not apply to this topic...

This looks like aproblem with your db, the M_LEVEL column should have a default value set, so on registration it should get automatically filled in, just edit your db and a default.

I just installed the form and I get this same error message "There Was A Problem With Your Details" after it saves the new profile. Is there a fix for this or can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

I used to have this problem with my 3.3.x

turned out I had some Internet Security application running on my comp (Norton Internet Security for example) and had the script blocking feature turned on that caused this problem. I suggest you guys turn your Anti Virus or Internet Security or whatever u have running off for a second, clear your cookies and try again.
