Just migrated my snitz from access2000 to MS SQL Server. In the admin POLL Config, I keep trying to set the Poll to "on" and to change the maximum answers amount.
I click submit and when the page reloads, instead of my changes being reflected, they go back to default off positions.
I had the POLL working fine in access so I'm sure this is due to my migration to SQL Server. I'm not a big expert on that DB.
Is there some setting I missed when using DTS? Any ideas?

o.k., egg on my face. I found and fixed the problem.
But I want you all to know that I really did search through this board looking for an answer to my problem first. In fact, I almost NEVER post to this board because I just search and get answers to my questions so I never need to ask.
Anyhow, for the benefit of others. The problem was my version control of the config.asp file. I had inadvertantly uploaded an older version that did NOT contain the Poll mod variables and declarations.
So my db conversion from access to SQL2000 went well. Even with having 4 mods installed! I'm going to try to post a how to on upgrading to SQL2000 from access2000 when you've already got mods installed on the access2000 db.
All my research on this board didn't cover that subject much. It wasn't hard, but you have to be paying attention, that's for sure ;-)

If you searched for something like 'poll config not saving' you should have gotten a few topics on it. And most (if not all) of them have the same conclusion, check your config.asp file. Just finished help another guy with the same problem. He left out some important poll mod code in the file, but was completely sure the code was all there, until I took a look at it. |
