All Snitz Community Members:
I was not on much yesterday because I was being hacked. I am running an XP and I found out from my ISP that there is a security hole in Windows XP and 2000. Please if you have not applied this security patch to your system go to Microsofts site:
For XP's:
http://microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2354406C-C5B6-44AC-9532-3DE40F69C074&displaylang=en

For 2000's:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c8b8a846-f541-4c15-8c9f-220354449117&displaylang=en

If you would like more information or would like to verify this information contact your ISP.

BTW the error I was getting was concerning the RPC server being terminated. I was told to save my stuff and I was given one minute to do that then I was shut down. It appears that the hacker was either shutting people down or crashing their computers.

PS I do not know if those links are specifically for one person or if they are for everyone.

This isn't a new vulnerability. Microsoft has had a fix for it since July 16th. If you don't already, I recommend enabling Automatic Updates so that fixes such as these are downloaded automatically. You can choose to have them installed automatically, or you can be prompted to approve the installation.

There is also a fix for infected computers (...if you have the time to start it..)

Find it at www.bitdefender.com
