Does anyone successfully use Nero to burn CD's on a DVD-R drive? I used to use Nero on my old CD-R drive but when i put the DVD drive in it would not work so i uninstalled it and it worked perfectlly. Since then i have tried re-installing Nero and it will just not find the drive and then even Windows won't find the drive. Is there a patch or anything.
My DVD drive is a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-105 . And i'm using the full version of NERO 5.5

I have no problems with Nero on my DVR+R (Ricoh). If windows won't find the drive then you have something wrong somewhere, might want to double check your master/slave/cable select settings if its on an IDE channel with another drive.

My computer came with that DVD-R drive pre-installed, including Nero 5.5. Although I haven't felt the need to buy any DVD-R disks and therefore haven't tried it yet, I'm sure it'll work together.

Perhaps this Support FAQ on Nero's site helps?

I lost the drive letters for my Recorder as well as for my CDROM/DVDROM drives after installing Nero/Nero Express/ or InCD. What can I do to resolve this?

This is a rare occurrence, and it's normally caused by either our installer, or by uninstalling another CD Recording software program from the system.
You will need to edit the Registry to resolve this issue.
Open Regedit and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325-11C E-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Now delete the keys:

LowerFilters and UpperFilters.

Now reboot and your optical drives should function again.

Otherwise I'd try contacting Nero about it. I bet they'll tell you to upgrade to Nero 6 though

I tried that thing as above. But it did nothing. I have contacted NERO and are waiting for a reply. It's so crap!

Sorry I can't help you, let's just hope Nero won't make it easy on themselves and send you an automated reply like ZoneAlarm always does :S
