I know that member email addresses are hidden, and that you click on the member's profile to send an email. However, once you do that, YOUR email is revealed to the recipient. I'd like to reformat the email being sent out so that it doesn't contain the sender's email as a return address, but supplies a link that the receipient can click on to send return mail through the forums. That way, email addresses are never revealed through forum email.
Any suggestions, or has anyone done this already? |

It's a privacy issue. If you use the forums to send an email to another forum member, your email address is revealed to them (otherwise they could not reply). If the eamil had a link back to the forum email page for replies, the email addresses at both ends of the communications channel would be hidden. |

I can't see how it will be slower?, an alternative is to install the Private Messenger mod and allow members to interact that way |

I'll look into PM and see if it's a viable alternative. Thanks. |

The PM Mod also gives the user the option to receive an email notifying them of a new message. This is especially useful if the membersdon't want to keep coming back to the boards to check. It should just about cover what you want jfitz |
