A few months ago, I entered several terms to be blocked as UserNames under the UserName Filter Configuration in the Admin functions.
Tonight, I deleted many of those UserNames, wanting to allow them (since they were blocking any names that had those letters in their text -- my name is Erin (which I'd blocked), but that blocks such words as "wondering.").
However, when I try to register again with one or two of the terms I just deleted from the Blocked list, (not all of them), I get the message that says those characters are blocked.
In other words, after I "block" a username, and try to "unblock" it (after blocking it), it doesn't always work.
The weird thing is that most of the "blocked" names work fine, but one or two do not.
Of course, I have a few MODs installed (Poll, Avatar, Hover Color, etc.). Access database, v3.4.03. |

I have no clue if this would work but it might be worth a try. Why dont you try blocking Erin ? Try putting a space on either side. That way (anyone tell me if I am wrong ) hopefully the database will sense the spaces. So words like wonderining would work. Its worth a shot unless someone here knows otherwise. |

Richard, sorry to take your time. I realized I made a stupid mistake. I realized that as I scrolled to the bottom of the list, I couldn't see the drop-down menu for the second page, and that term was in fact on the second page.
Feel like such a newbie!!

I do that with the Bad Word filter, but I haven't tried it on the UserName filter (because I thought it might trim the spaces). I'll try that to see if it works.
Thanks for the help! |

Yes, that's true.
Actually, I tried the spaces, but it seems they were trimmed anyway.
So what I've done is just register the name Erin. That'll work, too. |
