Apologies in advance if this has already been covered, but I couldn't find the exact answer through the search.

As far as I'm aware the version I'm using is v3.305, at least the file I downloaded was sf2k_v33_05.zip at around this time last year, I think.

My forum is at Brinkster and when I uploaded it originally I had a whole heap of problems from Brinkster's fussy ASP rules and had to manually edit a lot of the files. Now, my query here is two-fold:

1. Are the new files more Brinkster friendly, or am I going to need to edit them again to get the site to work once I've uploaded my files? If this is the case, has anyone produced a bunch of Brinkster friendly files for the current version (because I don't really know ASP and I'm amazed I got it working last year)?

2. Can I test the new Brinkster forum without first shutting down my old forum using the old database? This is so that while I'm working out any Brinkster induced bugs I can still rest assured in the safe knowledge that my forum can be reverted if I haven't had time to completely work them all out.

Um. I think that's it. If I have any other issues, I'm sure they will surface in discussion.

Thanks in advance,

Nimrod, The Zen Cadet

1. Yes, the new files are brinkster-friendly. You should not have any problems uploading them.

2. No, once the database is converted for the new version it will no longer work on the older version. You could download your database and make a copy of it to use for testing though (just rename it to something else).
