I imagine that this is a common problem and was surprised not to find it when I did a forum search (like a good boy before posting the question!).

Some of the bad words that I want filtered are only bad as whole words. So it messes up perfectly good longer words that have that letter sequence in them.
eg. Matsu****a.

Any way to set the bad word filter to only censor whole words ?

I tried this about a year ago, but found that members had problems registering. I couldn't work out why it was causing problems though.

How do you mean? What if the 'bad word' is in the middle of another word?

that's the problem David. LeoG doesn't want the badword to be blocked when in the middle of another word.
