hi,
i just downloaded the latest version of snitz forums and customised the parameters as per the instructions in the readme.html file. i'm facing problem in giving table prefixes in the config.asp. i assigned the table prefixes as FORUM_00, FORUM_01 and FORUM_02. is it wrong? i am using the forum at the brinkster server. please guide me as to how should i be assigning table prefixes.
thanx, shivboy |

Table prefixes are only necessary if you have more than one snitz, I thnk. I never mess with them for a single forum installation. |

That's absolutely correct. If you will have a single board, you can just leave the forum prefixes unchanged in config.asp. |

If you just want to install the forums as they are installed here, you shouldn't change the table prefixes. Just edit the strDBType and strConnString in config.asp (instructions are in the readme.html file), upload all your files and run setup.asp from your browser.
The only time you have to edit the table prefixes is when you want to run more than one forum using the same database. Remember that "forum" is the entire 'message board' (think of a filing cabinet), "category" is a collection of "forums" (think of a drawer in a filing cabinet), and a "forum" (the one inside a category) is a collection of "topics" (think of folders inside a filing cabinet's drawer). |
