I have the default config at the moment and everything works great.
At present I have at the top of the page:
All forums Snitz Forums 2000 Testing Forums
I would like to change the reference to snitz forums to the name of my forum, how do I do that?
Also in the categories in admin I have set up a category that I would like particualr posts to be sent to, I don't seem to be able to get it to show in the forums home page though.
Any pointers appreciated.
Thanks jojo |

Snitz Forums 2000 is the name of the original category.
To create, edit, or delete category and forums hover your mouse over the icons on the right of the screen on default.asp. A description will pop up telling you what each one does.
Most likely you created a category group, not a category. |

Hi Nikkol, thanks for the reply.
You are talking about the default.asp page as in the forum main interface where you post etc? I don't see any icons to the right on that page.
Yes your right, I just checked I did make a category group rather than a category, I'm still not sure where I add the extra categories though, sorry if I am being a bit dense here....... |

all the way on the right where there are the listing of categories/forums you will see icons. If you are logged in as an admin, you will see several like: |

Hi
OK, I see the icons for delete, edit and new topic but nothing for category, neither do I see the lock icon.
Is it possible to rename the Snitz Forum 2000 link so that it matches the needs of my site?
I'm probably missing something really obvious here, my goal is to set up several categories as you have for each of the database types etc, different categories of course but the same type of layout. |

similar icons appear for the category as well. just look at the category row on the right. you can add more categories and delete existing ones.
make sure you are logged in as an admin. |

Hi
Sorry about this, feeling a little slow here, this is what's happening.
I can log into admin with my user & pass, and make changes to the default settings via the interface panels.
I can then click All Forums to go to the forum interface, but I just don't see the category icons on the category bar.
I've attached two links to gifs of the view I have in the forum, maybe they will help.

Thanks for your patience. |

Both images are taken under the same log in.
I go to the admin log in and complete the log in box, I get a successful log in and go to the admin control panel. The username and pass form fields are blank and the log in graphic is displayed, I log in again, presumably for the forums? The form fields disappear and I am shown as logged in, the log out graphic is displayed.
I see no icons on the category bar. |

Solved by Nikkol, cheers.
The problem was I had an admin user and a member with the same name, this was causing a conflict I removed the member and admin was then fine. |
