I'm moving my community site over from the old Access and ASP, to SQL and ASP.NET. I know Snitz doesn't have any plans to go .NET (real shame, as that is where web programming is headed), and I've also seen Nathan's CoreBoard. Problem is that CoreBoard is in C# and I really need something in VB as that is my native language (even more so than english sometimes. ) Anyone found any good solutions for this out there?
I've seen DotNetBB and InstantForum, both are nice but InstantForum seems to lack features and DotNetBB seems a little bloated and expensive although it is my best option right now. Now that I've eliminated everything that is out there, any packages that I have overlooked? |

Yes, I've seen that one too. It isn't VB though.. all built in C# I believe. I'm probably being to picky, but I want what I want. I may end up developing my own I guess, don't know yet. |

Jeepaholic - Yes, that is what I'm finding as well. I like the looks of that YetAnotherForum (Thanks for the link), but once again it is in somesort of C language. Maybe I should just break down and learn that... but you have to at least try to be lazy on the 4th of July you know. |

Why not start a new NET Project for the forum written in VB.NET

This looks very promising:

They are working on a converter from Snitz and many others, but it´s not free... |

Ive moved paratrooper.net to InstantForum 3.4 and the product is in continual improvement... support is great and I see good things coming on this platform. I built a snitz to IF script for my initial move over and will be building a more general one for all those interested in making a move. |
