Google has launched a new program to let sites earn revenues for displaying Google Adwords, see http://www.google.com/adsense/home . It looks like a good way for popular forums to earn a bit of revenue. Is there a mod available for running these ads on Snitz forums? |

I avoid ads at any time, would never implement them myself...and besides the money earned is so little that it doesn´t matter. |

A high-traffic site could make a lot of money off of these ads. Although they can be targetted very well, and some may feel they could get other advertising that pays a bit better when done that well. All depends on whether or not you are selling advertising yourself for your site. |

I'm trying this program, and it's working really well so far. Hope it keeps up! |

It was quick and easy to implement, and targets my site fairly well (except those pages that haven't been crawled).
Of course, many of the ads are those of my competitors, but since I don't sell anything on my site, I don't really care about that.
Edit: info added/removed. |

Anyone got screwy pageview results this morning? My AS admin page is showing zero pageviews (and zero earnings ), yet both my stats programs show a good number of pageviews already today... |

I got that same reply to Seven, I asked if they could just clairfy which policy it was they felt my site didn't adhere too, 2 days later got an email saying sorry we just reserve the right to refuse entry to the program ... then not 3 hours later I got another email saying welcome to the program lol, dammed if I know whats going on but I'll not tempt fate by emailing their support again just in case ;)
On the email I received there wasn't even a list of "issues" noted on it |

I've checked around in some of the most popular forums, and this program is a really, really hot topic for many reasons. Also, be forewarned that Google prohibits releasing stats, earnings, etc., in their contract with you, so you might not want to divulge those. |

The support is useless unless your asking very simple questions. Figure they've got a load of non-techs on the other end with a manual of Q and A's. |

Since AdWords is somewhat more mature than AdSense, their support seems to be a bit better. However, I have had good support from both teams with no problems yet. The only 'difficulty' that I have encountered is that AdSense cannot yet deliver ads via SSL connections. |

Another catch with Adsense to beware of too, having ads displayed on Search pages or "thank you" pages is forbidden, so if you were thinking of just including the code on a forum in say inc_header.asp then think again, you'll need to make sure its not displayed on pages like search.asp or post_info.asp etc. |

That's a good point Gremlin. I've found the appropriate changes to make to inc_header.asp that handle the GoogleBot as well as the disallowed pages. I'd be happy to post them if someone is interested. Just let me know where the appropriate location would be. |
