I don't claim to know what I'm talking about, so please bear with me.

Our company has an inTERnet site for some of our remote users. Anyone can hit this site's home page (https://65.243.21.169) but in order to navigate beyond that you must have your domain login info.

Because the users have to log in to get around the site, they don't want to have to login again to the forum. Makes sense.

Is there any way to use the NT authentication on this type of scenario? I have checked IIS 6 and it's got anonymous access turned on for obvious reasons. I guess based on that I'm outta luck, right?

If NT authen. won't work in my situation, does someone have step-by-step instructions made for a dummy on how to make the forum allow access without logging into it but not have everyone be an anonymous user? I've been reading on the site now for close to an hour and, while there's tons of info on this, none of it really seems to tie together into a logical set of instructions. I mean, it's a little bit here and a little bit there. I'm a bit intimidated by it all.

Thanks for any help! By the way, my profile info does not apply to the web server I'm referring to. It's Windows 2000, IIS 6.0, SQL Server 2000 Ent.

My info: Snitz 3.4.03, Access db, Mods Installed: Avatar Mod for 3.4, Newsletter Mod, Poll Mod v.2.0.1, Email All Users Mod v3.4, Spell Checker Mod, Mike's File Attach Mod, Next/Prev Topic Title Hover Mod v3.4, Message Icons Mod v3.4

just edit the Admin Options and choose NT instead of DB authentication. You will however have to edit the IIS properties of your forum folder so that anonymouse (don't you just hate typing a n o n y m o u s?) access is turned off there.

Ok. I have turned NT authentication on and anonymous access is turned off for the forum folder. I will let you know how it goes. I got confused on the anonymous access and didn't realize I could just turn it off for the forum folder. Thanks!
