Thanks for picking up the topic, Carefree! Do you think this is the one OneWay used? So it will appear as a normal forum thread in the homepage, but there'll be no require for a registration to post there? |

There's no requirement for registration, but if a user IS registered, it fills in some of the blanks automatically. Where you incorporate the guestbook is entirely up to you. Don't understand why you would want it to appear as a thread (message area), because then you could use the regular forums for that.... |

Because 1) it will not require a registration (that's to encourage shy people )and 2) we already have a guestbook that will be deleted and whose messages would be pasted in this new one! |

EXTREMELY BAD experience with this mod here:
1) Instructions are blatantly incomplete and report "ignore post mod guide" in the title bar.
2) Many forum files are listed, but it's not explained what you should do to them.
3) The line you have to search for and correct in inc_header.asp does not exist in that file.
4) Here's the error I receive in the admin options:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e37'
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'FORUM_GB_OPTIONS'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly.
/lamarine/forum/admin_guestbook.asp, line 31

Me too. The dbs_guestbook file is not updating the database from the Mod Setup. It's not adding the tables and when you do run the MOD set up it says that the Table Already Exists. They (Guestbook & GB_Options) are not in my Access database. I have no idea why not or how to fix it. |
Steve Mods installed: Friendly Registration, Email All, Invite a Friend, Active Users Lite, Event Calendar, Poll Mod. |
