Many times we have to download our database, do some work on it and then upload it up again.
During the upload period, the site returns an error when a user tries to log into the site.
The error comes up on "Open strConnString" . Is there a way we can have an if then script that will detect if a connection can be made, and if not have a static page come up informing the viewer that the database is being updated.

run down.asp before you download the database. then run it again after you upload it.

thanks but after running it locally all I see happening is a diversion to Default.asp.

What does down.asp do exactly?
