I see you have created the content/article.
Have you assigned it to be the default article in the config?

In the Add/Edit Category, when I keyed in the ' for the Title, it shows the following error;
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e14'

Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression ''Member's Betta', 0, 2)'.

/forum/admin_cms_category.asp, line 69

May I know if it is possible to allow ' to be used in Title? Thank you.

Fixed
Zip updated, only admin_cms_category.asp has changed

David,

What do you mean the default article in the config - my config info is never there each time I go back to configure it or change it.

First, run setup.asp
go to CMS Configuration
select an article from the pull-down Homepage Content, this is your default article

it seems my left windows are missing: http://www.burningsoulsforum.com/portal.asp

I am going to look at the code now to see if I am just missing something in the settings.

Dayve, two possible reasons

a) You have no categories with content in configured to go in the left nav.

b) You have left nav turned off (CMS Configuration page)

David,

When you say setup.asp - do you mean the one that comes with Snitz Forums?

I may also be not setting up the configuration correctly. Can you provide some instructions on that so I cna understand better?

Thanks.

Richard,
The instructions are in the zip file
Looking at your portal.asp page it looks like all you need to do is set the 'Homepage Content' as I have described previously

David,

OK - I went back to the instructions in the zip and followed those given here in this thread but I still get the last error I reported. I have created two categories - News - Links. I have created content in each category - Links Test - News Test.

I then go to the CMS Configuration option from within the admin home page and this is how I set it up and I still get the error. Any ideas? Am I setting this up wrong? I am savvy with PC's and usualyl figure this stuff out but I have followed everything and am still hitting the wall.

Any help is appreciated.

When you go back to that CMS Configuration page after saving, are the values you entered still there?

No they are not. I get a good indication that the values were updated and submitted but nothing is there when I return.

What does this mean?

You haven't copied the required code into config.asp

David, I just want to say that I am very excited about trying this out when I get a bit more time. It's really nice to see some new MODs coming out! And it seems everybody's clamoring for their CMS's/portals. Thanks.

Dave,

Alright we are making progress. I was editing two versions of config.asp and started to use one I had not made those changes to - I am at least now getting the data back in the window for CMS Configuration and the page is displaying further but now am getting a new error:

Where to now?

And by the way - I truly appreciate the support and assistance!
