Check out my site http;//www.weeweeslap.com http://www.coastercrazy.com They both use the same coding pages, only the config.asp was editied in the variables so that if you visit one site is displays certain colors and if you visit the other it uses different colors. I have the active users mod, poll mod, IP search mod, private messages(modified further one of the mods here), and I think that all that is installed. I have changed the menu on over to the site for a cleaner look in my opinion and the header graphics are in a banner rotator of sorts, but I only have one displayed as of yet since I only have one for each made. This forum and site was made by redBrad0 from eznetideas.com and me webtekdesigns.net So we both did the site but he made mostly all of it. I've added the mods though and a few cosmetic changes and stuff. We also have a track exchange that uses the coding of the forums, but the displaying of the games, images, rating system and all is pure custom made coding and it works great! I also have a little banner rotator at the bottom of the website. I can add baners for people and stats are viewable for them as well. Like impressions and clicks and stuff. What else? Uhmmm I guess that's all I have right now. I plan on adding a few more mods, say the avatar mod, IP gate, barring I get past a problem I have with it. The site runs on SQL server and has over 1,200 members and it has pretty good traffic, I think current record stand at 44 active users online, while the active users mod was added yesterday miday. Well I look forward to your comments / suggestions and ides for the site/sites. Check it out at www.weeweeslap.com (blue colored) or www.coastercrazy.com (red colored) here are the guest login info: username: SnitzTest password:test I am eager to hear your comments! You can post your comments here or e-mail them to Oscar@eznetideas.com

Blue version is good although the top logo could bit a bit smaller.
Red version... let's just say I'm off to see my eye doctor for the damage you caused me!!!
Try to throw some other colors in the red version because it really is way too much red. |

that's cool, trust me I know how difficult a "red" themed site is to make. I run a forum based on red colors. I would have never used those colors myself, but I am a spin off to main site with a similar domain name coded by someone in another state on a different server. Anyway, my point being that it has taken me a long time to see what reds members found more appealing. I'm still not happy with what I did, but the members seem to be okay with it. |

The only comment I have about the forums is that some of your forums require the visitor to log in (or become a member). Perhaps you could add some text in those forums' descriptions to let people know they're for members only. It'd save guests some time if they know in advance that they won't be able to see anything The blue site looks good, the red one is a bit hard on the eyes IMO. You might want to take a look at http://www.weeweeslap.com/randalltgenxr/ because there seems to be something wrong with the font size on that page (or I'm just not old enough to appreciate such large fonts yet ) The track exchange is quite a wide page too... perhaps you could make some changes there to make it work on slightly lower resolutions too? |

Very nice looking, the one comment I'd make is to configure the links more to either change color or lose/gain an underline when you roll over them just so that it's more obvious they're links, not sure if that is a personal preference to not do it. Overall very nice site! |

weeweeslap: I was trying to register at wws to let you know that I'd posted a link to your site from my site. One of my users made a post about virtual airlines, which made me think of your virtual coasters. Anyway, I couldn't get past policy.asp on wws, but this may be a problem with my NIS.

Oh, one more thing--you need to get rid of the double copyright symbols, which likely happened when you upgraded from 3.3.xx to 3.4.xx:

Hi TestMagic Thanks for the link! I read tyhat topic and added some more info for the users that were asking questions about the tracks and such I have on my site. Yes it's a known problem of snitz that can cause problems in registration with NIS. I had to turn off my firewall to register at your site too, several users have also e-mailed me asking me they can't register, I reply to turn of firewall on registration and then it works just fine for all of them so far. About the double copyright symbols, that actually happened when splitting the info in the config.asp file. But I'll look into it and see if I can get it out. Hi Frutzle, I'll take your recommendation and allow visitors to browse all the forums. I thought I had all set like that but I guess I did not set it like that About the randalltgenxr, yeah I've been meaning to get that font fixed but you know, I always forget and other site issues arise. I'll get that fixed ASAP! Hi UGBC, I'll take your recommendation on chaging the color of the links on hovering over them. I am uncertain of what color to use though.
Thank you all for your comments and suggestions and my staff and I will try to get a handle on this. Once again a special thansk to redBrad0 for the great help that he has been. WWS

From here:
http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=33227&SearchTerms=©,©
quote: I noticed a very small and very easy problem to fix: after upgrading, the copyright symbol in the bottom right-hand corner appears twice. ==> ©© ©©
To fix it, simply go to:
Admin Options > Main Forum Configuration > Forum's Copyright
and remove the © from the field.
It seems the DEV Team has included the © symbol in the DB code already, so there's no need to enter it in the field anymore.
And in the Snitz help file:
http://forum.snitz.com/forum/pop_config_help.asp?mode=system#copyright
quote: This copyright statements location is basically saying that any topics or replies that are posted are copyrighted material of your organization. This copyright location also helps to copyright the images of your logo and any other material that may be posted on forum pages; however, it is understood by copyright statements in code and informational pages, that the forum code itself is still copyright © 2000 Snitz Communications.
NOTE: The © will be included automatically.
Yeah, I know about the NIS/firewall problem, but I stil couldn't get through at first, even after I'd disabled my firewall and opened a new browswer. I *think* it's because my IE is broken (none of the fixes are working), and caches just about every single page I visit, even dynamic ones, and reloads from the cache instead of from the server, even I refresh.
I saw your post--thanks for posting in my forum! At least one member seems interested. |

hmm weird, I prolly did something in the wws recoding of the config.asp page because for www.coastercrazy.com which uses the same pages of coding it only shows once, I'll check the config.asp where I coded the pages for each site in it. Thanks for the tip! |

jut a small update for http://www.weeweeslap.com part of the dual site same pages forum/site... I coded in a form of ad rotator for my main header graphic. I have several graphics now that whever you refresh or go to a different page a different coaster is pictured in the header. Web based of course and I also added the member spotlight mod right below the Main Menu.
I'm real proud of how my site is but unfortunately the costs of running it are getting out of my reach so I might have to shut it down soon or scale it down a lot as is in removing the exchange, which uses the most bandwidth and will have to say gfoodbye to 1,600+ members if I don't find another way around this.Well just thought I'd give you that update and hopefully I don't have to shut down my site any time soon. Thansk for your support and help in adding the various mods and tips on the site. I'm still working on some fixes suggested here but you know, time is of the essence. Thanks once again! WWS |

Maybe if you explain the circumstances to your visitors they would be willing to paypal you a buck or two each to cover the charge. May be a little intrusive to your members and visitors but it seems like you have a fairly loyal group of members that view your site, a buck is a really small thing to ask. :) |

small update just added a new mod, the one for the header and category background images, got a little tricky in the coding of it due to sharing the same config.asp file but got it to work! I think the bg's came out better for www.coastercrazy.com than www.weeweeslap.com we'll see and we're also on a different better host. WWS |
