It is the nature of most browsers to stop all gif animations when a link is clicked, don't know whay though. One way around it is to use the onclick event of the anchor tag. So, instead of:
Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.”
another tip for you if you come upon a page with an annoying GIF animation (such as a banner) you can hit the stop button and it will stop the animation(s).
I know you want them to keep going, but while you were on the subject of them stopping (and the nature of the browsers) I thought I would bring it up.
